Easter

We had a good Easter- hope you all did, too! Started with empty baskets outside the boys' bedroom in the morning, with a trail of eggs and goodies leading into the living room. Two trails actually. Didn't want them fighting over the next thing in the line. They immediately got into shaking the eggs and putting them in the basket, but didn't realize they opened until we showed them. Bubbles, animal crackers, cars, playdough and accessories, pretty good little haul.

We went to the Church of the Cross in Hopkins; second time there and it's one of our top picks at the moment... looking forward to being done with church shopping though. Easter dinner (literally dinner b/c of nap time) was so good... ham, pineapple casserole (kind of a sweet bread pudding that goes really well with ham), creamy dill new potatoes and peas, asparagus, almond biscuits, and deviled eggs made by Sarah!

Strolling

We have quite a few transportation options for the boys. Jogging stroller, wagon, bike cart, regular stroller... and now we've got a garage to keep them handy! The wagon's been especially nice for going to the park (thanks Aunt Sandy!), and the jogging stroller is great for grocery store trips (thanks Grammy and Grandma).

Newsflash!

Just the other night during a skype with Andrew's folks, Micah added a new laugh to his repertoire. I think it would be best described as a sort of hyuk... a little like goofy? Will be working in earnest to capture it for you, but it's hysterical.

Took the boys to the park Monday and they're getting quite confident with the slides, fun!

At our park

Gravel is hard to walk in

Best game at the playground is throwing gravel

It's not Hollywood Beach, but it's walking distance from our house...

Stories Lately

Here are some stories and quips from the last few weeks:

  • Phin has a Monty Python and the Holy Grail sideways gallop. It's pretty perfect. One morning he's down to his diaper and is galloping away from me; all of a sudden his diaper drops to the floor. He stops dead, looks down, then looks up at me with a quivering lower lip, like he did something wrong. Aww.
  • Micah is super into elbows. Sarah has a little German song we sing at the table that has elbows in it, and he's hooked. He will come up to you just to let you k now where your elbow is. He's very proud of himself too.
  • Phin has taken to calling all persons the same thing. One day it was mamam (that's mom), the next it was baby. He even points to himself... a very equal way of looking at things, I suppose.
  • We've been playing ring around the rosy, which they love. Only they never fall down. They just like watching me fall down and laughing at me.
  • They have gotten a bit fussy about getting hands messy at meals. It goes over very well if I give them each a damp washcloth to use throughout the meal.

Sky Zone

Sarah has discovered Sky Zone (a giant trampoline warehouse) has toddler time. At this point they've been half a dozen times (MD and MN). Fun!

Finger painting

This is in the tub (clever, right??), and the heat lamp is on, thus the crimson glow.
